Lára is trying to keep herself and her young son afloat when she begins training as a border officer at an Icelandic airport. Adja is passing through on a journey she hopes will bring safety and a different future. A decision at passport control binds their circumstances together, although neither yet understands what the encounter will mean. As work, housing and immigration rules narrow their options, the women cross paths again outside the official setting that first divided them. Ísold Uggadóttir’s restrained drama follows the practical details of precarious lives and the possibility of solidarity between strangers. Both women carry queer histories, but the connection developing here is shaped by survival, responsibility and a recognition that the system sees far less than the person.
