Kat and Eva have built an unconventional home on a narrowboat in London, where limited space has never stopped them from imagining a life together. Their comfortable rhythm changes when Eva begins to want a child and Kat struggles with what parenthood might mean for their independence. A visit from Kat’s friend Roger introduces a possible solution, along with another set of feelings and expectations. What begins as a practical conversation soon exposes differences the couple can no longer leave unexplored. Moving between playful domestic comedy and more difficult questions about commitment, the film follows three people trying to negotiate the boundaries of a family before they fully know what they want that family to be.
