Vilė leaves the countryside for Vilnius carrying the hope that student life will give her more freedom than home could offer. Her new landlady Sandra seems to embody that possibility: outspoken, confrontational and ready with an anarchist explanation for the rules other people obey. Fascination brings the women closer, but Vilė gradually begins to notice the distance between Sandra’s slogans and the way she treats those around her. Attraction becomes part of a larger struggle to decide whose ideas deserve trust and what independence actually requires. Saulius Drunga’s coming-of-age drama follows a newcomer testing the promises of rebellion, discovering that refusing one set of expectations does not mean surrendering her judgement to someone who claims to have escaped them all.
