Lucy and Jane have spent years knowing one another’s habits, sharing small complaints and assuming their friendship will remain close at hand. Jane’s announcement that she is moving to London unsettles that comfortable arrangement. Lucy, meanwhile, is beginning to say aloud something she has kept from both her friend and herself: she is attracted to women. Exploring that realization, including a connection with her colleague Brittany, exposes how little experience can sit beneath an apparently settled adult life. Co-directed by Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, the film places a lesbian coming-out story inside a friendship comedy about changing at a different pace from the people who think they know you best.
