Alexandra Everett returns to her hometown after a military career ends under the pressure of discrimination against her sexuality. The discipline that once gave her life direction now leaves her struggling to decide what comes next. Familiar people and old tensions offer little easy comfort, but a request to help prepare a troubled young woman for military training gives her a practical task. Working with Saffron asks Alexandra to draw on skills she still possesses while confronting the institution that has rejected her. Ned Farr’s drama follows a lesbian veteran negotiating the gap between service and acceptance, finding a possible purpose in mentoring someone else without pretending that a new responsibility can simply resolve the damage she has carried home.
