Asta has returned to the routines of a local newsroom in the Norwegian coastal town of Ålesund, but ordinary tasks do not yet feel ordinary to her. At home, she shares a quiet domestic life with her girlfriend Live, whose work restoring furniture supplies its own rhythm of attention and repair. A story about an asylum seeker facing deportation begins to draw Asta outward, asking her to take a position when she has been struggling simply to move through the day. Anders Emblem’s measured drama lets spaces, small conversations and sustained companionship carry the emotional weight, following a woman whose recovery becomes connected to a renewed sense of responsibility toward the world.
