Clara Gutierrez repairs artificial intelligences and rarely stays anywhere long enough to put down roots. Sal has remained in one place for centuries, keeping a tea shop open in memory of the human owner she loved. An old robot in a world that no longer permits the creation of beings like her, Sal lives with grief and increasing hostility from those around her.
