The Brutal Truth

Maddie Grey is an Australian journalist working in New York, where lonely nights and demanding crime-reporting assignments have left her feeling far from home. Her intimidating boss, Elena Bartell, appears to inhabit a different world: powerful, controlled and accustomed to getting results. An assignment that brings them to Australia changes the distance between them, and a challenge about telling the truth makes their professional relationship harder to keep contained. What begins as friction gradually exposes feelings neither woman can easily dismiss. This workplace romance follows Maddie and Elena through differences in age, authority and self-understanding, as honesty becomes more consequential than either expected when they agreed to the game.
