The Ballad of Ami Miles

Ami Miles has grown up believing that her family’s survival compound is one of the few safe places left after the collapse of the old world. Her ability to have children gives her a role the adults around her consider essential, but a stranger’s arrival makes the cost of that role terrifyingly clear. With help from an aunt, Ami escapes and sets out to find the mother she has never truly known. Beyond the compound, people and possibilities challenge everything she has been taught. Her journey becomes a search not only for family, but for the right to choose her own relationships, understand her desires and decide what kind of future she wants.
