Cat Li knows that a good romance can make a game unforgettable. Her new job at Compass Hollow gives her a chance to prove it, if narrative director Andi Zhang will let her. Andi, still wary after a painful encounter with online harassment, wants the studio's next project to leave romance behind. When financial pressure forces romantic storylines back onto the agenda, Cat and Andi must collaborate despite their conflicting instincts. Their professional arguments become harder to separate from a growing attraction. Set inside game development, this workplace romance follows a woman and her nonbinary boss as creative ambition, vulnerability and the fear of being exposed complicate their connection.
