Proper English

Patricia Merton expects a shooting party at a country estate to offer recreation and the company of an old friend. Instead, she finds herself increasingly captivated by his fiancée, Fenella Carruth. Keeping a proper distance becomes difficult as the two women discover a mutual attraction. Meanwhile, the guests at Rodington Court are entangled in affairs, grudges and secrets that turn the social gathering sour. When a murder transforms those tensions into immediate danger, Pat and Fen must combine their talents to understand what has happened. Their romance develops within a country-house mystery where appearances are unreliable and private loyalties matter as much as the evidence of a crime.
