In the Shadow of the Past

New York, 1943. Kathryn Hammond performs in nightclubs while carrying out assignments for the Office of Strategic Services, keeping her past and her work behind a carefully maintained exterior. Reporter Jenny Ryan is searching for answers about her father's murder and has little patience for obstacles placed in her way. When Kathryn's mission brings Jenny into her orbit, attraction makes an already dangerous assignment more difficult. Neither woman can afford to misunderstand the other's motives, yet secrecy is built into the situation between them. This opening volume of the Shadow series follows an emerging relationship through wartime espionage, where personal loyalty and professional duty increasingly pull in different directions.
