Imogen, Obviously

Imogen Scott has always understood herself as straight and taken pride in being a supportive friend to the queer people around her. A visit to her best friend Lili’s college unsettles that comfortable certainty. Lili has told her new friends that Imogen is bisexual and that the two of them used to date. Rather than embarrass her friend, Imogen agrees to play along. Then she meets Tessa, whose attention makes the distinction between a convenient story and her own feelings unexpectedly complicated. This coming-of-age romance follows Imogen as she questions assumptions about identity, belonging and permission, discovering how difficult it can be to listen to herself when she thinks she already knows the answer.
