Briefly, A Delicious Life

Blanca has haunted Mallorca since her death in 1473, watching the living continue through the place she cannot leave. In 1838, George Sand arrives with Frédéric Chopin and her children, bringing new disturbances to the ghost's long existence. Blanca is captivated by Sand, whose way of living and loving offers a fascination she cannot answer with ordinary courtship. Her attention follows the visitors as artistic ambitions, family ties and local hostility complicate their stay. Across the distance between their lives, Blanca's longing raises questions about freedom and desire. The living writer and the young ghost occupy different worlds, yet Sand's presence gives Blanca's memories and wants a renewed urgency.
