An Unexpected Affair

Dr Miranda Hayes believes she understands the shape her life is meant to take, including her relationship with her boyfriend. The arrival of Lane Remington as her new chief executive unsettles that certainty. Miranda has encountered Lane before, and their previous meeting did little to suggest that working together would be easy. Lane maintains a cool professional distance and has no intention of becoming involved with an employee. Neither woman’s preferred arrangement survives their growing attraction without strain. For Miranda, the connection raises questions about desires she has not previously acknowledged; for Lane, it challenges boundaries she has relied upon. Their workplace relationship becomes a test of what each is willing to reconsider.
