Actually Invisible

Josie has learned to make herself unobtrusive. Once an isolated lesbian teenager and later a partner in a secret relationship, she now keeps her sexuality private while teaching English at a suburban high school. Grieving her father and undergoing fertility treatment already demand more than enough of her attention. Then a student comes out to her through a writing assignment, and the quiet arrangement Josie has built begins to collapse. Angry parents and anonymous threats place her at the centre of a public conflict she never sought. Speaking honestly could endanger her employment and unsettle her family, but continued silence carries a cost of its own. Josie must consider what safety means when remaining unseen no longer protects her.
