Opinion • Spoiler-light: premise and performances only. This is our verdict on the series so far, not a review of its ending.
Khom Khlang is our pick for the best sapphic TV show of 2026 so far. This supernatural Thai girls’ love (GL) series stars Bint Sireethorn Leearamwat as Bulan and Puinoon Warangsiri Tanajarusworaphat as Pheem, and their chemistry is only the beginning of why we’re obsessed.
Somewhere between the supernatural danger and the very real chemistry, Khom Khlang raised our expectations for Thai GL.
The acting sells the romance. The script gives the leads something worth playing. The special effects make the supernatural ambition feel worth pursuing. Together, those elements give us a sapphic series we want to watch for the whole story. We are buying what they are selling. Enthusiastically.
At the centre of it are Bint Sireethorn Leearamwat and Puinoon Warangsiri Tanajarusworaphat. They deserve the attention, the applause and fandom.
What is Khom Khlang about?
Puinoon plays Pheem, a Bangkok police officer pursuing a human-trafficking kingpin who appears immune to bullets. The investigation takes her to Phop Phra in Tak, where she seeks help from Bulan, the spiritual practitioner played by Bint. Pheem arrives needing enchanted ammunition. Meeting her fated soulmate makes the assignment considerably more personal.
The romance unfolds in a world with its own dangers, beliefs and obligations. There is something at stake beyond whether two beautiful women will become romantically involved. The attraction has to find its place inside an investigation and a supernatural story.
This is a Thai GL with more ambition than we're used to seeing: romance, mystery, action, spiritual power, women whose lives are already in motion. Khom Khlang gives its leads a substantial world to inhabit, and they make us want to stay there. And that is what makes the whole thing so exciting.
Who should watch Khom Khlang?
Start here if you want a sapphic romance wrapped in a supernatural crime story, with adult leads whose lives extend beyond falling in love. Come for Bint and Puinoon; stay for the investigation, the magic and the emotional stakes. If you’re looking for a light, everyday romance, the human-trafficking investigation and supernatural danger are worth knowing about before you press play.
Bint as Bulan: a pageant queen with brains and emotional depth
Bint’s crown is literal. She won Miss Thailand and Miss International 2019. She graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Mahidol University in Thailand. Now she is giving us Bulan, and we would like the industry to take very careful notes.
The glamour is part of the pleasure. In their MIRROR Thailand interview, Bint discussed shaping Bulan’s entrance with the director, including the sunglasses, and the character’s combination of local textiles and contemporary style. That attention gives Bulan a look with a point of view. The red nails, the clothes, the presence: this woman knows who she is.
Bulan’s confidence is one of the best things about Khom Khlang. She knows herself. There’s discipline in her practice, respect for what she does, and that same conviction in how she shows up in the relationship. Bint makes all of it believable. The emotional depth is there alongside the confidence; neither cancels the other out.

Thai GL needs more women in their thirties
Bint is in her thirties, and this is why we want more sapphic leads in that age range. Give us women with an established sense of self, commitments they take seriously and a life that love has to find its place within. Bulan has that presence, and Bint absolutely sells it.
She has also spoken about questioning her career direction in her thirties before continuing to pursue acting. That makes this moment especially satisfying. There is no sensible reason to treat thirty as the closing credits on a woman’s romantic leading-role potential.
Give us the women who know their own minds. Give them ambition, danger, longing and a script with somewhere to go. Give Bint more of this. We are extremely available as an audience.
Puinoon as Pheem: chemistry worth the hype
Puinoon’s Pheem gives Bulan someone with a very different starting point: a police officer who expects evidence, entering a world that asks her to confront what she cannot explain. That difference gives their relationship something to work through.
Our enthusiasm for Puinoon is about how completely she helps sell that relationship. Chemistry needs both performers. The reason this pairing works for us is that we believe in the characters together; the romance feels worth our emotional investment.
Bint and Puinoon are our Thai GL breakout stars of 2026. They have made these roles their own, and the hype should follow them beyond a few circulated clips.

Puinoon’s openness matters, too
In her MIRROR Thailand interview, Puinoon spoke openly about belonging to the LGBTQ+ community and the pride she felt playing a character from her own community. Her discussion of how that experience helped her understand Pheem adds something meaningful to the conversation around the series.
There is joy in seeing an openly LGBTQ+ performer take up this space and receive recognition for her work. The performance deserves its applause; that visibility deserves celebrating alongside it.
The script and effects deserve their flowers
The chemistry is the immediate hook. The writing and production are why our praise extends to the series as a whole. A supernatural GL needs its world to be compelling enough that we want to follow the story as well as the romance. For us, Khom Khlang delivers.
The intimate scenes deserve their own applause. For us, they set a new bar for GL: they give us everything without actually revealing too much. The confidence, the yearning, the chemistry—it all carries through. Bint and Puinoon sell the intimacy as completely as they sell the characters. Respectfully, they ate and left no crumbs.
The script gives the leads a story we are invested in, and the effects support the scale of what the series is trying to do. We want that effort recognised. We want sapphic characters at the centre of productions willing to build a world around them.
Why Khom Khlang is our best sapphic TV show of 2026 so far
Our favourite sapphic show of the year needs to give us more than a pairing to root for. Khom Khlang has the combination we want: performances with emotional weight, a romance we believe in and a story with ambitions of its own.
Could it become genre-defining for Thai GL? We think so. There is still an ending to land, and our verdict is about the series so far. But Bint and Puinoon have already set a bar we want future sapphic productions to aim for.
Bint. Puinoon. Take the applause. You have sold us these characters, and we are seated.
